ElectroPing

ElectroPing works measuring the latency of the connection, ie how long it takes to send and receive a data packet. It monitors the state of the internet connection continously and in an efficient way, so, the user can know at all moments if the internet connection is working or not.

When the application is running, it puts a notification icon which changes color depending on the state of the connection.

The states can be: Excellent!, Good, Slow, Falling or Stop working!.

The colors can be green (good or excellent), yellow (slow), orange (falling) or red (dead).

The application consumes very little internet data and consumes very little battery because it works only when the screen is on. Optionally, when the screen is off the application makes checks at a very low frequency configurable by the user.

Optionally, the application can make a sound and vibration alert when the internet connection stop working while the screen is off (and therefore the user is not using the smartphone and isn't viewing the notification icon).

In some specific situations, (depending on the internet provider), the aplication can inform good but actually there is no a real connection with the testing server, it is a fake connection. This scenario and others will be resolved in subsequent versions of the application.

Note that when you are using the Internet intensively, the application will detect a slow connection and can report a state of slow. Once you complete the intense use, it returns to the previous state.
